white roses surounded by a grey fog
liquid gold, frozen? how come he's
a summer dress blowing in a winter breeze,
an "ex" followed by a why?
He can be something else besides
a flying kiss,shot down,
the inspiration for a love song, never sung.
Why couldn't he be
a night saturated with stars
a rainbow after a storm
a Disneyland in your backyard?
Instead he's a dry tear, a cold sun,
a hard pillow, a first love forgotten.
